"Keepers of Tradition: Art and Folk Heritage in Massachusetts" draws on eight years of fieldwork by folklorists at the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Driven by the goal of understanding the state's traditional arts from an insider's point of view, these folklorists talked toand recordedpeople in homes, dance halls, boat yards, and other places where folk art lives.
